Covid-19 restrictions cause another Gillman Speedway fixture change
by Gillman Media 22 January 2021
Ryan Douglas, Justin Sedgmen and Jason Crump are amongst the early nominations for the next Gillman Speedway meeting, the All Stars Solo Spectacular, on Saturday night, 30 January
Gillman had previously advertised a double-header weekend, with the Australian Speedway Under-21 Championship on 29 January and the FIM Oceania Speedway Solo Championship on 30 January, but both of these events have been postponed by the respective controlling bodies, Motorcycling Australia and FIM Oceania, due to uncertainly around COVID-19 border restrictions.
When the announcement was made on Monday afternoon, Gillman organisers moved quickly to schedule another major Solo event for the Saturday night, hoping to attract many of the riders originally selected to ride that weekend.
Nominations do not close until Sunday afternoon (see the Nominations tab on the Gillman Speedway website) and the full details of the meeting will be published on the website next week, but it is confirmed there will only be one meeting that weekend, on the Saturday night, gates will open at 4pm, racing will start at 7pm, and as well as the Solo Spectacular there will be support events for Sidecars, 250cc Solos and 125cc Solos, all with interstate riders competing. Admission prices will be adults $25, concession $20, and children (under 16) free.
