Dakota North to ride in South Australian Solo Championship - November 2014
November 17, 2014 by Gillman Media
Victoria’s Dakota North is the second of Australia’s international riders to nominate for the South Australian Solo Championship which will be held at Gillman Speedway on Sunday, 28 December.
North’s entry follows that of current Australian Under 21 Champion Max Fricke who showed his keenness to contest the event by submitting his nomination several weeks ago before leaving the UK.
North has just completed a successful season in Europe where he rode for Swindon in the British League and Rybnik in the Polish League, and next year he hopes to also land a contract in Sweden.
23-year-old North is using the State Championship as a springboard to what he hopes will be a successful campaign in the Australian Championship and said “Yes, I’m hoping for some good results in Australia, and I would like to finish on the podium in the National Championship”.
North was runner-up in the 2013 National Championship, behind fives-times SA Champion Troy Batchelor, but had a disappointing series last season when he was without his best engine and had to use a borrowed engine, so is out to make amends this season.
