Exciting Junior Sidecar Events Announced For Gillman Speedway - March 2013

There will be two great nights of racing for the 250cc Junior Sidecars at Gillman Speedway Stadium on March 30 and 31 when they will compete in the Aircom Systems Junior Spectacular (30 March) and the Territory Marine sponsored O’Brien Cup (31 March) as support events for the K Trans Australian Speedway Sidecar Championship meetings.

Gillman Speedway Manager Dave Parker says: “We need to foster the sport and give the dedicated Juniors something to strive for.

“Brett Gilbert from Aircom Systems has generously offered to sponsor one night and Steven Blair from Territory Marine, and an accomplished passenger for Mark Drew, has also put his hand up to sponsor the O’Brien Cup, which is great news for the kids.

“At the last Australian Sidecar Championship we ran at Gillman, the Junior racing was hard and fast and I expect nothing less over Easter this year.

“The Juniors will strut their stuff on the 111 metres infield track between rounds of the senior racing, which will allow time for a quick water of the senior track, and for the senior bikes to stay cool and keep the action flowing all night long.
