Gillman Speedway Airfence Sponsorship - May 2014
May 7, 2014 by Gillman Media
There have been many improvements at Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway in recent years, but without doubt the best investment has been the Speedway Safety System Airfence which has been in place since the start of the 2011/12 summer season.
Made up of 66 three metre panels which absorb the impact of a rider by the air inside them being compressed on impact and transferred between internal chambers, the fence is the most up-to-date and safest Speedway fence that is manufactured, and has proven its worth many times over. The photo above of Jason Doyle at last season’s Australian Solo Championship is just one example of a rider being saved from serious injury.
The cost of the fence, with all associated costs such as freight to Gillman, etc., was in excess of $100,000 and was made possible by a large number of supporters of the Speedway who bought sponsorship packages. In return for donations the supporters, who are listed below, have had their names on the fence panels for the past three seasons.
The Gillman Speedway management would like to once again acknowledge, and thank, those people who made the purchase of the fence possible, but also advise that the initial sponsorship deals have reached their conclusions, and it is now possible for other supporters to have the chance of sponsoring the fence panels.
The sponsorship money goes towards maintaining and, if necessary, replacing fencing panels and interested supporters or businesses should contact Speedway manager David Parker on 0403 364 658 or email <dave@gillmanspeedway.com>.
