Gillman Speedway to host the 2024 FIM Oceania Speedway Championships

Adelaide’s Gillman Speedway has added two major events to its 2023/24 season fixture list with the addition of the FIM Oceania Speedway Solo and Sidecar Championships.

The allocation of the prestigious events was announced last week by FIM Oceania President Peter Doyle.

FIM Oceania is a continental union and regional representative of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), the world governing body of Motorcycle Sport.

When making the announcement, Mr. Doyle expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming events, stating, "We are delighted to bring the 2024 FIM Oceania Speedway Championships to Gillman Speedway. This iconic venue has a rich history in two-wheel sport, and we are confident that it will provide the perfect stage for the region's top riders and sidecar teams to showcase their talent. We invite speedway enthusiasts to join us in experiencing the electrifying atmosphere and witnessing the incredible displays of skill and bravery on display."

The Solo Championship will be held on Saturday 27 January 2024, and the Sidecar Championship on Saturday 9 March 2024.

The events are in addition to other major events previously announced including the Final of the 2024 Australian 500cc Solo Championship (13 January 2024) and the South Australian 500cc Solo (9 December 2023) and Sidecar (24 February 2024) Championships.
