Jason Doyle wins the South Australian Solo Championship - December 2014
December 29, 2014 by Gillman Media
Jason Doyle won the South Australian Solo Championship at Gillman Speedway last night.
Doyle led the final from the start but was under constant pressure from Rohan Tungate, and Tungate briefly took the lead at the end of the second lap. Doyle quickly regained the lead on the third lap and then held on for a narrow win ahead of Tungate, with Justin Sedgmen a close third. Dakota North was the other finalist but trailed in a distant last after slowing in the latter stages after a close race with Sedgmen for third.
As expected, the top five – Doyle, Tungate, Sedgmen, North and Max Fricke – dominated the meeting and there was nothing to choose between them which augers well for next weekend’s Australian Championship round.
There was some impressive rides from other riders, in particular Brodie Waters and Kieran Sproule – but nothing to suggest they can dislodge the British League riders from the top spots in the National Championship.
