Paul Waters starts his recovery - February 2014
February 18, 2014 by Gillman Media
Sidecar passenger Paul Waters, who was injured at Gillman a week ago, is out of hospital and on the long road to recovery.
Waters was badly injured in a simple looking crash in which Mark Mitchell’s bike broke down and the bike Waters was on, ridden by Trent Headland, ran into Mitchell and Headland and Waters were high-sided from their bike. Many described it as a “slow-motion crash” and no one expected any injuries to come from it, but Waters landed awkwardly and suffered several bad breaks in both his tibia and fibula (lower leg) bones of his left leg.
He had an operation on the night of the crash, and has had a pin placed in his leg from just below the knee down to his ankle.
He was released from hospital after only a couple of days and is now resting at home.
