Round two winners late inclusions for Sidecar Super Series Final
February 20, 2020 by Gillman Media
Sidecar Super Series Round 2 winners Mitchell and Jack Spear have come into the final round as replacements for Warren Monson and Andrew Summerhayes.
The Spear brothers had an outstanding meeting in round two. Riding Damien Niesche’s bike they top scored in the heats, with 14 out of a possible 15 points and then won the final for a score of 18 points, the best from any pair in the first two rounds.
Despite that performance they were initially not included in the final round because there was uncertainty about the availability of the bike until after the heat draw was done.
Now, however, they have received a last minute reprieve with Monson and Summerhayes unable to ride.
Monson/Summerhayes missed the first two rounds because of racing commitments in New Zealand, but wanted track time at Gillman before the upcoming Oceania Championship. Unfortunately for them, and Gillman spectators, Monson’s bike is stuck in customs in Sydney.
Full details of the meeting can be found on the News tab of the Gillman Speedway website under “Sidecar Super Series Final at Gillman this Saturday night”.
