January 7, 2016 by Gillman Media
2015 Australian Speedway Grand Prix wildcard Sam Masters is the new leader going into Friday night’s third round of the Australian Solo Championship at Gillman Speedway in Adelaide.
Masters finished third behind Nick Morris and Mason Campton in the second round at Undera in Victoria on Wednesday night, but with round one winner Rohan Tungate failing to reach the finals in Undera, Masters now leads the series but it is very tight at the top with just three points separating the top six point scorers.
Masters has 28 points, with Tungate, Morris, Brady Kurtz and Max Fricke all on 26 points, and Campton is on 25.
Full details of Friday night’s CBS Bins Round 3 can be found on the Gillman Speedway website under the previous News heading “CBS Bins Australian 500cc Solo Championship round at Gillman Speedway Friday night” with one notable change. 25-year-old Queensland rider Josh Grajczonek has withdrawn from the series following crashes in both of the first two rounds. He suffered a shoulder injury, two knocks to the head and badly damaged two bikes. He is replaced by reserve Joshua Macdonald.
The full series points at the half-way stage of the four round series are: Sam Masters 28, Rohan Tungate 26, Nick Morris 26, Brady Kurtz 26, Max Fricke 26, Mason Campton 25, Jack Holder 20, Justin Sedgmen 13, Jordan Stewart 13, Brodie Waters 12, Tyron Proctor 10, Josh Grajczonek 7, Alan Macdonald 6, Josh Pickering 6, Cooper Riordan 5, Joshua Macdonald 4, Kieran Sproule 2.
