Speedway Racing News Magazine to sponsor the South Australian Sidecar Championship
November 12, 2013 by Gillman Media
The 2013/14 South Australian Sidecar Championship, to be staged at the Gillman Speedway Stadium on Sunday 5 January, received a significant boost today when it was announced that Speedway Racing News Magazine will be the naming rights sponsor.
Speedway Racing News, established in 1972, is Australia’s top selling oval track publication and publisher David Tapp says he’s thrilled to be supporting one of the Gillman venue’s major blue ribbon events.
“Gillman Speedway Stadium is Australia’s leading speedway motorcycle venue and the crew at the helm do a fantastic job for the sport,” Tapp said.
“Dave Parker, in particular, is a huge asset to Australian speedway and the role he has played in helping to establish Gillman as a world class speedway bike facility is meritorious. I enjoy going to Gillman and I am proud of the TV programs we have produced from the venue over several seasons. I’m happy to support the SA Sidecar Championship through the publishing arm of our business. SRN is an icon of Australian speedway and there’s no doubt the Gillman facility also enjoys iconic status given its global reputation.
“The SA Sidecar Championship will attract a world class field and fans are assured of a wonderful night of entertainment. Given that the event is being held the night after round two of the Blackchrome Sidecar Grand Slam Series is staged at Murray Bridge Speedway (January 4); it certainly represents a great week for speedway bike fans”.
Meanwhile Gillman track boss, Dave Parker, says he is delighted to have secured the support of Speedway Racing News Magazine.
“David Tapp and his company Power Productions has been long-time supporter of Gillman Speedway and it is great that, through his Speedway Racing News publication, he has come on board with one of our season’s major events,” said Dave Parker explained.
“Many years ago Speedway Racing News Magazine was a predominantly Sprintcar orientated publication, but that all changed when Tapp purchased the magazine and it now provides the best speedway bike coverage in the sport; as well as catering for all the car fans.
“The SA Sidecar Championship is one of Australia’s most hotly contested State Championships in domestic speedway and will most certainly attract the best field outside of the Australian Sidecar Championship and the Blackchrome Sidecar Grand Slam Series.”
Speedway Racing News Magazine goes on sale on the first Wednesday of each month and is available in newsagents throughout Australia. At $6.95 it represents outstanding value for money. Visit www.speedway.com.au for further information.
