Tungate out of Gillman meeting

Gillman Speedway organisers were shattered to receive a call from former Australian Champion Rohan Tungate last night to say he will not be riding in the Oceania Championship tonight, citing a lack of anyone to co-drive with him from Kurri Kurri to Adelaide.
Tungate was due to travel with fellow NSW rider Kane Lawrence but Lawrence was injured at work during the week.
Speedway Riders Association President Ivan Golding said this morning “We are naturally very disappointed, as I’m sure the fans will be. Rohan always rides well at Gillman and is a crowd favourite, but we still have sixteen good riders from around the globe so we’ll still see plenty of exciting racing, and the winner will be even harder to pick without Rohan in the line-up.”
