Sidecar Championship at Gillman tonight - November 2014
November 22, 2014 by Gillman Media
After the weather forecast all week was for a mostly sunny day with a maximum of 33 for today’s Gillman Speedway meeting, spectators living in the Adelaide area would have been dismayed to wake up this morning to the sound of rain.
The rain continued throughout the morning but stopped around 1.30pm and Speedway Manager Dave Parker set about cleaning up the track, so all is well (as at 4.15pm) for what should be an exciting night’s racing.
“The spectator area is fine and the track will be okay, we just have some water on the infield which means we won’t be running the juniors on the infield track” Parker said. “Everything else is okay, the canteen is already getting the food ready, the ice cream van has even arrived and set up, and there some cars already waiting to get in, so it should all be good. There may be a short shower just after opening time but we are hoping that won’t deter people because we have two very even looking line-ups so both Sidecar Championships should be very good.”
Gates will open at 5pm and racing will start at 7.30pm.
