Rohan Tungate joins the line-up for Gillman opener - September 2017

New South Wales rider Rohan Tungate is the second international rider to enter for the Australian World Cup fundraising meeting at Gillman Speedway on 4 November.
Although Tungate lives just a few kilometres from his home track in Kurri Kurri, he is something of a track specialist at Gillman having won both the South Australian Championship, and a round of the Australian Championship at the Adelaide track.
He won the State title in 2016, after finishing as runner-up to Jason Doyle the previous year, and finished in the first three in the Gillman Australian Championship round for four successive years (including victory in 2014) before a first ride crash restricted his scoring last season.
Tungate is currently riding for Belle Vue in the British League, Lejonen in the Swedish League and Lodz in the Polish League and is in good form, top scoring for Lodz with 14 and 13 points in their League Semi-Final matches against Tarnow, and 16, 8, 9, 12 and 15 points in his most recent matches for Belle Vue over a period of just 8 days.
Other early nominations have been received from Mildura’s Jaimon Lidsey, who recently travelled to Poland as reserve for the Australian Under 21 World Cup team, and local teenager Brayden McGuinness, while Queensland’s Jacob Hook is the first entry for the 250cc Under 16 class.
